Plymouth Township wants to ensure the safety and well-being of all its residents, as we are sure you do. In that spirit this is a reminder that homeowners are responsible for trimming the trees in the front of their homes so that there is 15 feet of clearance underneath any branches that overhang the street. Any trees in the common areas, such as islands in cul-de-sacs, are the responsibility of the HOA. It has come to the attention of the township that there are several areas in which the trees need trimming, and that the state of the trees is interfering with the post office’s ability to deliver mail efficiently.
Township Ordinance #1016, Amendment No. 25, Sec.98.04 (a) states “a clear space of 15 feet above the surface of the street” is to be maintained. (See full tree ordinance below)
